[edit] Abstract

The 'Cease and Desist' letters in Wikipedia, which gives chilling effects to users of Web sites is discussed. Students at the project's team of law school clinics then annotate the letters with meaningful links to legal information that can help readers understand the legitimacy of the author's claims. The chilling effects team reported a disturbing number of legal flaws in so-called DMCA notices, which result in online materials being pulled from the Internet. The chilling effects of cease and desist letters is helping people to understanding their rights.
